About the Author
Shotgun Bo Rivers

With an established career of published works, Richard White wanted to take on another writing challenge. As his agent put it, like Mountain Dew and Mello Yello,
a pseudonym offered him a new opportunity to reach a new and different group
of readers. The first western Shotgun Bo Rivers book, Letters From The Grave, was published in 2017, and readers were soon drawn to the concept of Bo Rivers. With Laramie's Thunder well on its way, Shotgun Bo Rivers will leave his mark in the Western Genre.

Since he was a small boy, Richard dreamed of being a cowboy and living the cowboy way. Growing up, he watched western films and read western fiction books with his grandfather Ken Ford. Grandpa taught him the code of the west and told him to always live by them. He taught him to live each day with courage. Take pride in his work. Always finish what he starts. Do what has to be done. Be tough but fair. When he makes a promise, he keeps it. Ride for the brand. Talk less and say more. Remember that some things aren't for sale. And Know where to draw the line. He always told Richard a good ole country and western song was the only music to listen too, and if he found that special woman in his life to love her strong and never let go. With his advice, Richard has lived every day that he can remember living by the code and applying it to his writing.

Tom Mix, John Wayne, Glen Ford, Clint Eastwood, Elmer Kelton, Louis L'Amour, Zane Grey, Max Brand, and many others carried Richards romanticism of the Old West many years and still do today. The Freedom of riding across a great divide, or spending a month on a cattle drive with little to eat, bedroll, and a tin cup for coffee, always made his mind wander off into the land of fiction, where he rode in to save the day, and gun down an outlaw before they shoot the town marshal. Currently, Richard is writing a western fiction novel series beginning with Laramie's Thunder The Collins' Crew, part one of a four-book series.

"When I sit down and write, I can let go of all the confusion in the world we live in, become my characters, riding the range, and chasing down some outlaw that just needs to meet his maker for all that he has done, releasing the stress of normal life that comes my way."

Richard also loves to engage in any conversation of the old west, so if you would like to chat about it, feel free to contact him, it would be an honor to ride along the fence chatting about the Old West.
His only hopes are to help the western genre come back on top. When people read his stories and poems, he wants you to enjoy them all, as he has enjoyed writing them, with his grandfather in thought, every moment, wishing he could tell him his story of the Old West, he will continue riding off into the sunset.
