Hoping to connect with writers who are specially writing for younger children and finding ways to market out work in today's marketing environment for self published children books.

I'd love to have a discussion about this.

Hi Cherise!

I've written books for younger children as well! What is the Target audience for your books?

@tia-perkin My children's books aren't really age-specific, since I write them with special needs kids in mind, but I'd round up to about 1st grade, or 2nd grade at the most. A lower functioning teen or young adult on the Spectrum would like my books since they are meant to be educational. I try to market to early readers, making my books large-print, which is ideal for following the lines with bookmarks (that's the reading teacher in me).

Mine are for 0-3 and 0-7. Marketing for the 0-3 crowd is difficult, I have found, but I have had a lot of success in lower elementary with author visits. I think You might do well with an author visit in upper elementary depending on the subject matter of the book and how you structure the visit.
